Day 22, I used the mosquito coils I brought with me a lot at the hotel. Mosquitoes are everywhere in hot and humid Vietnam. When they fly around my face in the middle of the night, their buzzing wings wake me up. Mosquitoes live in Pingpong Terrace in Tondabayashi all year round, though.
Google Maps pitfalls!?
I followed the pedestrian route and ended up in a tunnel that was closed to pedestrians and cyclists.
I had no choice but to go back over the old road and lose 4km.
I took my first break after running 17km.
Then I came to the Phu Nghia Tunnel, which is also closed to pedestrians and cyclists!?
I was forced to take a detour again. That's all I did today.
This kind of situation can happen in any country.
If you are traveling across Vietnam on foot or by bicycle, be careful between Hue and Da Nang!
After passing the second pass, lunch was waiting for me!
Mackerel, chicken and pork on rice... Leaf salad and soup.
I always eat too much rice.
I'm happy to have a decent meal!
When I asked "How much is it?", the man at the restaurant replied with a smile, "No charge."
What a wonderful and divine response! ? I was so grateful and moved!
After 1pm, I checked into the hotel in Lang Co after running 30.5km.
Maybe it was a bad idea to increase my pace on the descent of the pass, so I cut it short and early to take care of my ankle.
I'll look forward to crossing the Hai Van Pass tomorrow.
I decided that turning back twice in the tunnel was a sign to "not rush."
I'll take it easy here.
*Today's distance: 30.5km
