June 1 is my personal anniversary "Adventure Day" when I set out on a epic journey biking across USA(1991) and biking across the Arctic Circle & Canada(1994).

In 1994 after the 2nd trek, I was biking in New Zealand and across Australia, where I traveled across the two countries on foot in 2013 and 2014 again.

I was young enough to spend whole my power and energy on those two adventure treks.

But 20 years after the first trek, I ran across the same continent again.

Yesterday I happened to meet Raj, from Tucson, Arizona, visited Osaka.

He once cycled from Tokyo to Nagasaki 34 years ago under the project named PEACE RIDE.

His bike trek covered about 20,000km in some countries in Asia in 1981 to 1982.
Again he's going to follow the same road to raise awareness of WORLD PEACE.

I was surprised he had met Mr.Deguchi, executive director of JACC or Japan Adventure Cyclist Club in 1982.

Once he got sick and was in peril of losing his life but he survived.

He decided to try another trek this time. That's what he's now planning for the first time in 34 years.

As I am Adventure Runner who is running PEACE RUN, I would like to do anything I can do for his PEACE RIDE.

And I'd like you folks who live between Tokyo and Nagasaki, especially along his route, to support him and his PEACE RIDE in many ways.KAYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15781952730185505494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7462534973163351371.post-89793179022679420372017-02-15T20:30:00.000+09:002017-02-16T20:30:54.791+09:00"THE SWEEPERS"

I sometimes work on picking up rubbish as a part of volunteer activity.

"THE SWEEPERS" is a facebook group which I started in December 2012.

Most of members are runners who enjoy running cleaning up their local parks or streets.

Some of the members finish full marathon races carrying a big plastic bag full of rubbish.

Why don't we try something good for our society?
Isn't it nice to do something eco-friendly?

Having fun snowshoe running as a part of winter training.

I easily got hooked on it when I first tried it in 2011.

Today I wore snowshoe for the first time in 4 years.

If you love trail running, why don't you try snowshoe running?

You may feel good running on a soft surface of powdery snow.
I started working at KONANSO Villa the other day, which is a secluded mountain cottage near the peak of Mt. Kongosan(1,125m above sea level).

It's nice to run along the snowy forestry road everyday. I run along the trail about 3km(2miles) one way to the villa from the nearest bus stop.

I appeared on TV on NHK, Japan's national public broadcasting organization o Friday 13th.

It was a news program called “OHAYO NIPPON(Good Morning, Japan)” and it introduced some special footwear available in Japan.

I was featured as one of the serious One-Tooth Geta(OTG) users.

Wearing 15-centimeter-OTG, I started walking and strolled around Tondabayashi including Jinaimachi, which is one of the national historic preservation districts and heritage sites of Japan.

Former residence of the Tanaka Family(Built in 1892) was seen for a few seconds.

Also I tried jump roping with OTG on. It may be impressive for athletes. I’m sure many runners want to try on OTG.

This OTG is called “SCAPPA” which is as light as 250g, developed especially as a training tool for athletes or runners.
It is held in order to congratulate and encourage all those who have reached the age of majority (20 years old=hatachi) over the past year, and to help them realize that they have become adults. Festivities include coming of age ceremonies (seijin-shiki) held at local and prefectural offices, as well as after-parties among family and friends.

…from “Coming of Age Day”(Wikipedia)

My daughter turned 20 years in June last year and yesterday she attended coming of age ceremonies in Nagoya where she was born.

I divorced when she was 6 and hadn’t seen her for a long, long time and last summer we met for the first time in 13 years.

Then I felt as if she had come back from the future in time machine.

I had been away from her for a while but I’m glad she still remembers the time we spent together in Nagoya.

I may not be a good father but she’s the one I’m proud of the most.

I hope she can go her own way to make her dreams come true.

And I’m sure she is my daughter and she can do anything she wants. All she got to do is trust her instinct whatever she may do.

Someday she’ll become a mother and I do want her to tell her kids about their grandfather.

Come and see me, my daughter.

Let’s have a toast sometimes. Bring your steady too.

I want to be your dad who is proud of you who are proud of a father like me.

The other day Adventure Runner KAY moved to Tondabayashi City, which is located in the south-eastern part of Osaka prefecture, also in the western part of Japan.
It is next to his hometown, Habikino City.

He enjoys walking around the town with One-Tooth Geta, his training tool as well as his favorite footwear.

This photo was taken at Jinaimachi, a national historic district and heritage site.

Come and visit Tondabayashi and be sure to see Jinaimachi.

You may feel as if you traveled back in time to 400 years ago.
36 years ago today you were gone.

You said, "Imagine there's no heaven."

If that's true, you are not in heaven.

Then I'm wondering where you are now.

You still live somewhere in this world watching us all.

Don't worry, John.
Someday we'll make the world be as one as you wish.

Appeared on TV on December 6 as Adventure Runner.

My PEACE RUN started in 2011. It was just after 3.11 the Great East Japan Earthquake.

I ran across the US, Australia and New Zealand calling for support in reconstructing quake-hit areas.

After running across US I ran across Japan for the 2nd time visiting the disaster region to see what was going on out there after 3.11.

This time I ran around western Europe including UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherland, Belgium, France and Spain to raise awareness of quake victims and how horrible quake and tsunami are.

Sorry, only Japanese I spoke. But enjoy the pictures and movies on this video.

Meeting someone is to touch his or her life.

Extremely speaking, it is to touch someone's heart and soul.

Although it might be difficult for me to meet 7 billion people
all over the world, I'd like to meet as many people as possible.

Meet someone special to you today!
We, Piapi and I met on Facebook on July 9, 2011 while I was running across USA.

Met each other in Osaka for the first time on February 7, 2012.

And we got engaged on June 9, 2013 before I started to run across Australia.

But it was not an official marriage but we lived together in Osaka.

We promised to become husband and wife legally after I came back from PEACE RUN 2016 Running Around Europe.

And that’s what we did today.

Nothing has changed but Piapi changing her surname.

In Japan, November 22 is designated as A Good Couple Day for married couples.

Yes, today must have been the day when we decided to be a good couple for ever and ever.

Ran 10K at Yatomi Charity Marathon held in Aichi Prefecture.

This running event is hosted by Yatomi Lions Club as a charity marathon to help childhood cancer patients.

I was invited as a guest runner for a consecutive 2 years.

It was kind of a small local running event but about 750 runners participated in 4 events including 10K, 5K, TRY-2.5K and Family-TRY 2.5K.

Under the sunny blue sky, it was a bit too warm but I had a really good time running with lots of runners sharing peaceful moment with them.

There were many costume players running here and there.

Couples, friends and families enjoyed running together. I'm sure they all had an excellent time.

Hope I can run with them next year too!

Woke up a bit earlier in the rainy morning.

Checking out, we left a hotel for the airport by taxi.

Finally the time has come when I have to leave Paris, France, and Europe.

Going back home for the first time in about 4 months.

Many things must have changed in Japan.

Many things may have changed within me myself.

Anyway, isn’t it nice for a traveler to come back home?

There are lots of people I want to see again.

Security check is what I have to be serious.

After all we got on board after following some procedures.

I watched some movies, ate in-flight meals 4 times and the time went by in the air.
